The First Steering Committee Meeting Has Been Held
The first Steering Committee Meeting of the Strengthening the Turkish Safer Internet Centre Project has been held.
Coordinated by the Information Technologies and Internet Security Association (BTİDER), with the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA) participating as co-beneficiary and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HADEA) acting as the granting authority, the Project for Strengthening the Turkish Safer Internet Centre aims to enhance the online safety of children and young people.
Its core components include awareness and education activities, a 24/7 helpline, a hotline for reporting harmful content, youth participation, and strong data-protection practices.
Held on 29 June 2026 with the participation of Mr. Ömer Abdullah Karagözoğlu, President of the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (ICTA), and Mr. Ömer Faruk Sorgun, Chairman of the Board of the Information Technologies and Internet Security Association (BTİDER), the 1st Steering Committee Meeting addressed the project's governance structure, roadmap, and objectives for the period ahead.
